Mr. Zavala is in his sixth year as the Head Band Director at Cardiff Junior High School. He is a graduate of the University of Houston, where he holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree.
Prior to teaching at Cardiff, Mr. Zavala taught in the Spring Independent School District and Humble ISD. Groups that Mr. Zavala has been involved with perform consistently well in state and local contests. In his previous position, Mr. Zavala had the honor of working with a group selected to perform at the 2011 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. Participants are selected to perform from a large pool of applicants to represent the best in music education across the nation. When not spending countless hours at CJH, Mr. Zavala enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren, their son Alden, daughter Audrey and their furry animal friends, Chuck and Sparticat.

Mr. Brodt is in his tenth year at Cardiff Junior High. He currently instructs all beginner brass classes as well as the Symphonic band. In addition to his role as a band director, Mr. Brodt is also the fine arts department chair at Cardiff Junior High. Mr. Brodt is a graduate of Okahoma City University, and holds a Masters degree from the University of Houston.
